Buses Home during University Breaks
Since 1998, the Mountaineer Parents Club has been providing buses to aid families in bringing students closer to home during Thanksgiving, Winter and Spring breaks.
What began with just 2 buses heading north has turned into a service that now offers
buses to 16 different destinations in six states across the Northeast. The Mountaineer
Parents Club partners with the
WVU Department of Transportation and Parking to Hagerstown, MD; Carlisle, PA; Allentown,
PA; King of Prussia, PA, and Secaucus, NJ, as well as a bus to Highland,
NY. The Highland bus will service families from Eastern, PA; Southern, NY and as well as
Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
New for this year -- a bus to Cleveland, OH has been added for the Thanksgiving Break.
Local Mountaineer Parents chapters also offers buses to bring students to their areas which include Long Island, NY; Columbia, MD; Northern VA and Southern NJ & DE.
IMPORTANT: While we do our best to accommodate viable departure and safe arrival times for all students and parents, we realize that some students may have classes that meet after the scheduled departure time. All professors give students a syllabus at the beginning of the semester that details their attendance policy and how many days the student can miss. Ultimately, it is the student’s responsibility to discuss missing class with their professors. The holiday buses are provided as a service for those able to work within these time constraints.
Please Note: There are no tickets issued for these bus trips. As students board the bus, we will check them in.
