  • Aug. 14 – COVID-19 module deadline
  • Aug. 25 - December Graduation Application Opens
  • Aug. 24 – add/drop deadline for full semester, 16-week courses
  • Sept. 6 – Labor Day – University Closed
  • Sept. 30 – Virtual WVU Career and Internship Fair
  • Oct. 1 – FAFSA available (needs filled out every year)
  • Oct. 7 – Mid-Check Grades Due
  • Oct. 15 - December Graduation Application Closes – emails will go to your student

  • Nov. 19 – Residence halls close for Thanksgiving Break
  • Nov. 24 – 26 – Thanksgiving Break
  • Dec. 9 – Last day of classes
  • Dec. 10 - Prep Day for Finals
  • Dec. 13 – 17 – Final Exam Week
  • Dec. 18 - Commencement
  • Dec. 18 - Winter Recess Begins

Financial Aid Things to Remember:

  • FAFSA needs filled out every year, available Oct. 1 and priority deadline March 1.
  • Continuing to apply for departmental and external scholarships throughout all 4 years.
  • Maintaining satisfactory academic progress which is reviewed at the end of every spring.
  • Students need to review and accept/decline their offered aid every year, usually available by mid-spring if the FAFSA is OK and there are no unfulfilled requirements.
  • Student insurance waiver due every year by August 1.
  • Seniors who are federal loan borrowers (or anyone dropping below half-time enrollment) need to do exit counseling for their loans.
