WVU honored approximately 1,500 August and December 2011 graduates at its annual convocation on Sunday, December 11 in the WVU Coliseum. To watch a video of the event, see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-An4GCT6JQ.
Mountaineer mascot Brock Burwell was born to be a Mountaineer, and he demonstrated Sunday (Aug. 22) how the Class of 2014—WVU’s newest students—are also meant to be Mountaineers. Burwell, who began wearing the buckskins as a 2-year-old when he accompanied his uncle Rock Wilson—then the Mountaineer—to various WVU events, spoke to some 5,000 freshmen attending the New Student Welcome at the Coliseum. The event featured a tongue-in-cheek video documentary, with a social media component, created to build a sense of community and pride around the pride that the Mountaineer—and his/her stance—embodies.
